Sebastian Vettel found himself rotating around on the track just after the start, inspection helplessly as other cars speed past him. His Formula One title hopes appear to be wandering absent with them. It was only the start of Vettel’s tribulations Sunday in what he called the toughest race of his profession. But he overcame all of them and walked away with the only prize that substances his third directly contest title.
Vettel shook off a first-lap crash and other complexity to finish sixth at the Brazilian Grand Prix, good sufficient to defend his lead over contestant Fernando Alonso and become F1’s youngest three time champ at age 25.
Jenson Button of McLaren won the race at Interleague, with Alonso second and Ferrari colleague Felipe Massa third. Seven time world champ Michael Schumacher, F1’s most victorious driver, finished seventh in his concluding race after 19 seasons.
Vettel appeared to be in big difficulty when he was knocked shortly after the start and spun. He dropped to last place before he might turn his car approximately and begin a difficult detection. But he increasingly worked his way up the field in spite of a somewhat damaged car and no radio communication.
Schumacher was the first to applaud Vettel, having just bid his own departure to the sport. Minutes previous to the race, he lapped the circuit with a flag with the words “Thank You” written on it. He used the radio to thank the workings and engineers he has worked with, as well as his fans inspection on television.
